Historical Note

William Doyle's American Insurrection: James Meredith and the Battle of Oxford, Mississippi, 1962, is an historic account of James Meredith's journey to integrate the University of Mississippi on 30 September 1962, which exploded into a violent conflict between federal and state authorities in Mississippi.

Times + dates are estimates by Doyle, Oxford time, then 2 hours before D.C.
