Biographical Note

Andrew A. Kincannon was born in Noxubee County, Miss. on 2 August 1859. He graduated from the National Normal University of Ohio in 1884. Kincannon taught at Mississippi A&M College, now Mississippi State University, and was superintendent of the new public school system in Meridian, Miss. Kincannon was also President of the Mississippi University for Women. He served as Chancellor of the University of Mississippi from 1907 to 1914.

Scope and Content

This collection features financial statements from Andrew Kincannon’s time as Chancellor at the University of Mississippi. The collection also includes a few William Faulkner artifacts, including a poem written and autographed by Faulkner's mother.
