Historical Note
Founded in 1975, Yoknapatawpha Press is a southern regional small press which publishes works by southern writers. It was founded by the late Dean Faulkner Wells and Lawrence Wells, who served as co-publishers and editors, and is owned and operated by Lawrence Wells. Yoknapatawpha Press is named for William Faulkner's fictional county, Yoknapatawpha, from the Chickasaw word meaning "gentle water."

The collection contains materials, chiefly promotional items and news clippings, related to Yoknapatawpha Press.
