Biographical Note

Eudora Welty (1909-2001) was a native of Jackson, Miss. Welty, a prolific short-story writer and novelist, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1973 for her novel The Optimist's Daughter. Welty also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, among numerous other awards.


Scope and Content Note

The collection is an undated typescript of Welty's short story "Moon Lake." Each folder contain photocopies of pages as well as originals. Researchers are asked to use only the photocopies.
