The collection is a journal containing a surveyor's notes on Copiah County, Miss., originally written in 1881-1882. Inscription on inside first page reads "Volume 2 Field Notes of Copiah County Miss copied in 1881-2 by A.F. Kilpatrick then County Surveyor Copiah Co. Miss Property of A.F. Kilpatrick Memphis Tenn Nov 5th 1903".
