Historical Note
Thelma Ann Thierce was from Yalobusha County. She married John Q.P. Collums in 1936 and they settled in Houlka, MS. After her husband's death on August 2, 1950, Mrs. Collums continued teaching in Houlka and also in Jackson. She began publishing her short stories for children at this time.
