After serving eleven years in the U.S. House of Representatives, Johnson won a controversial and contested election in Texas for a seat in the U.S. Senate. Mississippi author David L. Cohn assisted by providing content for several stump speeches.

In 1966, Parallax released The Great Society Comic Book in which “the Group Resigned to End All Threats” searches for their lost leader “Super LBJ.”
