Series 16: University Greys, 1861-1994 

Biographical/Historical note

Company A of the 11th Mississippi Infantry regiment in the Confederate Army during the Civil War (commonly referred to as
the University Greys) was composed almost entirely of University of Mississippi students. Maud Morrow Brown authored a book
about the company; the collection contains materials related to her book, titled The University Greys : Company A, Eleventh
Mississippi Regiment, Army of Northern Virginia, 1861-1865.
