Biographical Note

A 1958 alumnus of the University of Mississippi, Raymond L. Harshman was one of the Deputy Marshals injured during the integration
riot at the University of Mississippi on 30 September and 1 October 1962.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of two letters of gratitude that Harshman received from President John F. Kennedy and U.S. Attorney
General Robert F. Kennedy for his service at the University of Mississippi.
