Biographical Note

Sanford Charles Gladden (UM 1924) taught in the University of Mississippi Department of Physics and Astronomy from 1930 to
1945; in 1933, he wrote a history of the department. In 1950, Gladden began working for the National Bureau of Standards (NBS).
Gladden worked in the Boulder, Colorado NBS facilities from 1954 until his retirement in 1968. Following his retirement, Gladden
began researching the history of Boulder and his own genealogy.
