Historical Note
Built between 1857 and 1859, Barnard Observatory is named for former University of
Mississippi chancellor F.A.P. Barnard. Today it houses the Center for the Study of
Southern Culture.
Scope and Content Note
The collection contains sound recordings of an oral history of the Barnard Observatory
at the University of Mississippi.
