Mrs. Clark Hairston Taylor graduated from the University of Mississippi (then as Emma Clark Hairston) in 1963. While at the University she was a campus leader, serving as the President of the Association of Women Students and a member of the 1962 Hall of Fame.
The materials contained in her collection include a letter written by her brother to her upon his hearing of the September 30, 1962 University of Mississippi riot, 1962 periodicals about the integration, and several campus newspapers from that time addressing the integration.
