general magazine to originate from the South.” The Oxford American publishes fiction,
essays, poetry, interviews, reports, commentaries and various forms of graphic art
including photographs and drawings. After halting production in Oxford, The Oxford American moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and is currently produced in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

and is organized alphabetically by author’s name. Correspondence is arranged chronologically.
Frequently, items in the Correspondence series pertain to authors with Contributor
files; it is recommended to search the Correspondence series in addition to the Contributor
Files if looking for materials on a particular author.

The processed materials in this collection have been donated in seven distinct groupings
[Original Collection: Boxes 1-8 ; Accretion 1 (96-63): Boxes 9-13 ; Accretion 2 (97-54):
Boxes 14-28 ; Accretion 3 (99-68): Boxes 29-30 ; Accretion 4 (99-69): Boxes 31-70
