Flannery O’Connor SMMSS
1.1 ANS. December 22, 1942. Pen and watercolor Christmas card by Flannery O’Connor sent to Mildred Porter. Milledgeville, Georgia. (#2000-87). Note: Features two flying geese with the words, “If you don’t hurry, we won’t get there in time to say ‘Merry Christmas from M.F. O’Connor.'” Part of a collection which contained a first edition of Wise Blood, clippings regarding O’Connor’s career, and a 1952 invitation to Wise Blood book signing.
1.2 Clippings. Undated [1942-1952]. Various newspaper clippings regarding the career of Flannery O’Connor; publication of Wise Blood, fellowships from The Kenyon Review, and 1954 inclusion of “The Life You Save May Be Your Own” in O’Henry Collection of Best Short Stories. Part of a collection which contained a first edition of Wise Blood, the 1942 Christmas card, and a 1952 invitation to Wise Blood book signing.
