Historical Note
The Southern Railway railroad company was created in 1894 to serve the southeastern
United States. The company enjoyed a high degree of success and gained a reputation
for innovation. Southern Railway continued to operate until 1990, when it was acquired
by the Norfolk Southern Corporation.
Scope and Content Note
The collection is a volume containing the annual report of the Southern Railway Company
in Mississippi for the year 1918.
