- James D. Nunnally was a freelance journalist who wrote primarily about politics and outdoor activities, mainly hunting. The
collection contains political correspondence, including letters from Presidents Nixon and Ford, senators and congressmen,
as well as published and unpublished manuscripts by Nunnally.

Biographical Note
James D. Nunnally was a freelance journalist who wrote primarily about politics and outdoor activities, mainly hunting. His
pieces were published in periodicals such as
Guns & Ammo,
Outdoor Life and
American Hunter. He was personal friends with several Tennessee Senators and Congressmen and had communication with several U.S. Presidents
during the 1970s and 1980s.
Scope and Content
The James D. Nunnally collection contains political correspondence, including letters from President Nixon and invitations
from President Ford, and from various senators and congressmen. The collection also contains both published and unpublished
manuscripts by Nunnally.
Arrangement
Boxes 1-4 of this collection are unprocessed. Researchers are asked to contact
Archives and Special Collections for more information on using these materials.
