Get Expert Help with a Private Consultation

The Department of Archives & Special Collections contains papers, photographs, films, and sound recordings related to Mississippi, the University of Mississippi, and the American South. We offer private consultations to support advanced research using our extensive collections of manuscripts, photographs, films, sound recordings, and more.

Our four units are:

  • Traditional Special Collections,
  • the Blues Archive,
  • the Visual Collections, and
  • the Modern Political Archive.

These are managed by expert faculty and staff who assist researchers with locating and interpreting materials. Consultations are ideal for complex questions or long-term projects that go beyond brief reference help.

We also prioritize digitization, and many materials are available online through our digital collections.
