Biographical Note

Benny Andrews was an African American visual artist who was born in Plainview, GA on 13 November 1930 and died in Brooklyn,
NY on 10 November 2006. He served as the visual arts director for the N.E.A. from 1982-1984. Andrews taught at Queens College
from 1968-1997.


Scope and Content Note

The Benny Andrews Collection contains exhibit posters, catalogs, brochures, postcards, posters, and news clippings related
to the visual artist Benny Andrews.
