Basic Information about Reserves

There are two type of Reserves commonly available in academic libraries, Print Reserves and eReserves. The University of Mississippi Libraries do not offer eReserves.

  • Print reserves are in hard, print copy form. Students must go to the library where the professor has placed materials for a class and check them out, generally for a brief loan period. Reserves can also be in many formats including books, articles, old tests, DVD/VHS/CD, thumb drives, etc. They can be actual library materials or materials owned by the professor or the department.
